The 13,200 Limit
Here I am Un-Rar’ing an archive that contains 65,000 files and the process stops with error.
An attempt to use 7-Zip to decompress the archive fails to. The process just does not seem to be able to unarchive files beyond the first 13,200 files.
Initially, I thought this could be errors with the archive or bug in software. But if I attempted to copy a single additional file using Windows Explorer, it seemed to fail too.
My conclusion has to be that FAT32 filesystems have a limit of 13,200 files in any folder.
Though I am not able to find any documentation on the Internet to support this fact.
